The Department offers a specialist program in computer science, with six streams (comprehensive, information systems joint mathematics, joint physics, joint statistics, software engineering).

In mathematics, we offer a specialist program in mathematics, and one in mathematics and its applications, which has five streams (teaching, statistics, computational physical sciences, computer science, design your own).

Computer science, mathematics and statistics each have a major program. The specialist programs can also be taken as co-op programs.

As well, mathematics has been part of the Early Teacher Project since its inception.

The Specialist Program in Natural Sciences, in collaboration with Physical and Environmental Sciences, is intended to give students a broad background in science, with a major in one field. As such it will provide a good education for students who wish to teach science and mathematics in elementary schools, or who are interested in science journalism or science policy.
