An FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program can be used to transfer files from a home computer to the G: or W: drive on campus (or from campus to home). The FTP program will refer to your G: drive as the 'pc' folder and the W: drive as the 'public_html' folder.
Type ftp://fissure.utsc.utoronto.ca/ into your Internet Explorer web browser. It will ask for your UTSC user name and password. Once these have been entered, it will show the files in your account. Double click the public_html folder to access your files on the W: drive, or double click the pc folder to access your files on the G: drive. Once you have double clicked on a folder, you can then drag and drop files from Windows Explorer. This transfers files from your home PC to your account on campus.
You can visit a web site such as www.download.com to download an FTP program that can be used to transfer your files. You will need to specify fissure.utsc.utoronto.ca for the hostname, and to use the public_html folder for the W: drive, and the pc folder for the G: drive.
